Business expenses
is such a grey area.
To avoid a nasty surprise down the line we will check your eligibility before you submit your claim. Our expenses questionnaire has been drawn up after consultation with HM Revenue and Customs and establishes where your temporary workplace is. This means that if you claim expenses you are doing so legitimately and not incurring any future tax liability.
No surprises - peace of mind

By claiming business expenses, income tax is saved, as tax is only calculated after deduction of eligible expenses from your gross salary. We check the status of all our members by asking them to complete a short questionnaire before they claim.
You can claim the following business expenses through FPS Umbrella:
Travel between your home and temporary place of work. If you have travelled to the UK to take up contract work then you can claim the cost of travel between your home and the UK.
Accommodation and subsistence. You can provide receipts and claim the full cost of accommodation and subsistence when you have to stay away from home.
Personal Incident Expenditure (PIE). If you stay overnight on business you can claim £5 for miscellaneous items. No receipt needed.
Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII). Although we offer inclusive PI you may have made your own arrangements and as such the costs in relation to taking out your own PII cover are an allowable expense.
Specialist clothing. Protective clothing, uniforms or parts of uniforms will be allowed.
Home/Mobile Telephones. The cost of itemised business calls are allowable.
Professional Subscriptions. The cost of joining your professional association is an allowable business expense.
All receipts for your expenses must be retained.
