CRB checking services
25th February 2010
A crb check is a legal requirement for those working with children or vulnerable adults as it protects the safety and well being of any individuals they come into contact with and provides employers with the security of knowing who they are hiring prior to staff commencing employment.
FPS Group can assist employers with the following types of disclosure:
Standard disclosures
These are often common amongst individuals entering certain professions within the financial and legal sectors and contain any details of: cautions, reprimands and warnings in England and Wales on Police national computers.
Enhanced disclosures
These tend to be used more for posts involving work in a regulated activity for a regulated provider with children or vulnerable adults. In general the work carried out here will involve caring for, supervising, training or being in sole charge of such individuals. They contain the same information as the standard check but with the addition of the new barred lists as requested and any locally held police information considered relevant for the job by the Chief Police Officer.
ISA
These checks are exclusive to the health sector. Requests for an ISA Adult First check carry a strict criteria and are permissible only where it is necessary to take such action because of a real danger that staffing levels will fall below statutory obligations.
